Wildfires...

Most people think that a fire is started on purpose or by electrical mistakes.
source:wildlandfire
But, out of 1,348,500 fires in the U.S. in 2009 ruffly 2,000 were
wildfires!  The most common ways for a wild fire to start is simply it is very dry and low wind therefore making the area perfect for a wild fire. I could list thousands of other ways for a wild fire to start but there is just to many and this is the most common way.

Japan Earthquake/Tsunami

The Devastation!
This video is from a while back when the earthquake/tsunami hit Japan. I don't know if you heard of it but it was on the 11th of March 2011. This tsunami's ratings were one of the highest in the world! The set back of all of this is that Japan is still cleaning up this disaster and will be for a long time so we encourage you to make even the smallest donation and it will help!

How tornadoes form!

source: Airmail

For a tornado to start, two air masses must meet, a lower one containing warm, humid air and a higher one containing cool, dry air.During storms, unstable humid warm air moves upward and is stopped by a thin  layer of cool dry air. This thin layer act like a "cap" on the warm air below it causing pressure and energy to build as more humid air rises. When the "cap" lets go under the pressure of rising warm air, it releases a huge amount of energy in the form of an upward moving air mass. The air moves in many diffrent ways there for making a tornado!

Hurricane Facts!

Did you know that there were 15 hurricanes in 2010 alone?

In 2010 alone there were 15 hurricanes 12 occuring in the Atlantic Ocean, and 3 in the Pacific Ocean. These hurricanes are started by a low pressure system which develops in the tropics. Winds begin to circle over warm and moist air, the air is then sucked up, wind then comes in to replace this air. These winds are very strong, and as this happens more and more moist and warm is sucked up into the system. More and more clouds begin to form and this energy is then released to make the winds even stronger. This forms a hurricane. Please keep checking in for more information on natural disastures!
